Mahindra & Mahindra seems to have finally cleared their way past all the legal obstacles and numerous lawsuits to enter the lucrative pickup truck market in the United States of America. Mahindra, the Indian car maker has been trying to enter the market since the last couple of years but a dispute with their local partnership had them fighting legal battles in London, instead. The pickup truck has an iconic place in the American automobile history and now after spreading its wings over other markets like Africa and South East Asia, Mahindra is now targeting the USA.

Now, that their local partner GV USA has gone bust, according to Mahindra Planet, the car maker is to commence assemblies of the T20 and T40 pickup trucks from the beginning of next year at Alabama, USA. Although, this news cannot be confirmed there is a possibility that, the car maker’s ties with Navistar could have made this possible. Navistar already has a tie-up with Mahindra & Mahindra. Navistar trucks are offered in India under the joint venture between the two companies. The report also suggests that Navistar has recently leased out a factory in the state of Alabama to Mahindra for its future US expansion.

Having said that, Mahindra & Mahindra has been on an aggressive expansion spree lately. Their African business is also doing well and the company has already spread to other central and east African countries. Mahindra also plans to setup an assembly unit in South East Asia to cater to markets like Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand where farm equipments are in huge demand. The car maker recently launched the XUV500 in India. It is all new SUV with a rather exciting design which could also make it to overseas markets sometime later.
