Here’s how the 2012 Mahindra Xylo facelift could look like!

It won’t be until the end of January that Mahindra will unveil the facelifted Xylo even as arch rival Toyota is all set to launch the facelifted Innova at the upcoming Auto Expo. But before that, one of ICB’s long time readers, Dev Dev Dathan, has delivered t our inbox what could be the image of the facelifted Xylo MPV, that Mahindra will position as their response to the Innova’s facelift. By the looks of it, the Mahindra Xylo sees plenty of cosmetic changes to make it look different from the existing model.

The front end sees a complete revamp, beginning with the headlamps and the grille, which are both redesigned to look sharper than before. The bumper and fog lamps too see changes in the facelifted Xylo while the alloy wheel design is also new. All in all, the facelifted Xylo, like the facelifted Innova, looks quite different from the existing variants. We might see a change or two on the interiors too even as the 2.2 Liter mEagle common rail diesel engine and the five speed manual transmission could be retained.

On the rear, new tail lamps is what the facelifted Xylo will get. So, competition seems to have spurred Mahindra to go the whole hog and give the Xylo, a relatively new product compared to the Innova a solid facelift. Expect to see the facelifted Xylo go on sale very soon as the facelifted model seems to have already reached Mahindra dealerships as this image of the facelifted Xylo seems to be clicked at a Mahindra dealership. The Mahindra Xylo is the second largest selling MPV in India, after the best sellling Toyota Innova which continues to lead the field quite comprehensively.

    What really needs to be changed with the Xylo is the suspension set up..
    It definitely isn’t driver friendly.. and lacks confidence at triple digits.. For a better handling will help any day..
