Maruti Dzire Compact Sedan Scooped: Fugly gets Fuglier!

Here is a scoop of the Maruti Dzire Compact Sedan doing the testing rounds somewhere near Gurgaon and upon first glance the Dzire Sedan looks downright fugly. Going by the history of Dzire sales in India, this model too should be a segment topper despite it’s gnarly looks.

Suddenly the compact sedan segment of the Indian car market shows plenty of action as just yesterday, we carried a piece about the rebadged Logan spawning a compact sedan called the Mahindra Verito CS later this year.

With the Dzire now joining the fray, the 2012 Indian Auto Expo could be when these cars are launched for the Indian market. Due to the Dzire now getting under the 4 meter mark, excise duty cuts will mean that the Dzire Compact Sedan will get cheaper.

Engine options could remain the same as both the 1.2 Liter K Series Petrol engine and the 1.3 Liter Multijet Diesel engine comfortably manage to meet the excise cut stipulations. To cut corners and price the Dzire Compact Sedan very competitively, Maruti might strip the car of some features.

Once that happens, we won’t be too surprised if the Dzire outsells both the Verito Compact Sedan and the “original” Tata Indigo CS many times over as the Brand Maruti still commands tremendous recall and faith amongst the Indian car buying populace.

Utterly crappiest car ever made in the modern history of cars.. What the hell Maruti is thinking while designing this??

One question though, if this Dzire is under 4 mtrs, which means it should be cheaper than the current Dzire, then what pricing has Maruti thought of for the new Swift to be launched soon??

I dont know what you guys think about yourself.(Maybe Automobile Designer or Creeetic) but I am Happy to find that what you guys hate, Looks, Runs mostly on Indian Roads. :-) Love Dezire.
