Maruti will launch yet another small car, the Suzuki Cervo in the end of 2010

Sometime ago, Maruti was mulling about launching the Suzuki Cervo. Mysteriously the launch never happened and Maruti didn’t even showcase the Cervo at the 2010 Indian Auto Expo. Now, in a remarkable turnaround, the Suzuki Cervo could in fact make it to Indian shores and this could happen by the time this year ends.

Maruti is planning to position the Cervo just above the A-Star. While the Japanese version of the Cervo comes with a one liter engine, we think that Maruti will retain the engine capacity and sell the Cervo for families who value interior space.

This will also give Maruti and extra option in the one liter engine segment where it already has the A-Star targeted at the youth. The Cervo looks pretty upmarket, somewhat like the Honda Jazz from some angles. This certainly will be a strong point along with the other Maruti Suzuki staples like reliability and value for money. Talking of money, the Maruti Suzuki Cervo will sell for a price between INR 3.9-4.5 Lakhs.

Maruti Cervo will be defeated by Ford-Figo and Nisan-Micra. It is better if Maruti launch Ritz in Seadan version under about Rs. 4.5L. Rakesh Soni

SUZUKI SERVO Launching in India : The more late it Launches the more it’ll face the Losses of Profit as other cars are making very fast progress & selling more & more. Come to the market & do the business asap with more of Counts & less of price. Make an eye on future servicing & spare parts sales for profits.

I am really skeptical about the AC in it with that low CC engine. I wonder how the engine would cope and perform with the AC on in low gears, especially being a city oriented choice. You can’t afford to keep the windows opened when you are driving in the city and want to escape the heat and the smoke.
