Maruti Suzuki is trying to recover from the sales slowdown by introducing special and limited edition versions of its cars. Soon after launch of Ertiga CNG, Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the limited edition of the Ritz hatchback. The Ritz limited edition comes with 12 new features.
On the exterior side, the Ritz gets set of new stickers that flows from rear boot through tail lamp and onto the side body, following character line of car. A bumper protector with mud flaps is another addition. The boot also gets a limited edition sticker below the Ritz moniker that says ‘@buzZ’.
Door visors are also added to the limited edition package. On the interior side, Ritz gets leather seat covers, leather steering cover and door sill guards. New floor mats and a rear parcel tray are the other additions. In terms of convenience features, the Ritz @buzZ gets a Nippon 2-DIN audio system with 6 speakers, USB, AUX and Bluetooth connectivity.
Parking sensors are also added in the package, with the display placed on the right hand side of dashboard, just above the steering.
According to Maruti Suzuki dealers at Pune, the Ritz@buzZ will be available only on the LXi, VXi, Ldi and Vdi models. Limited edition is not for Zxi and Zdi models. The additional features will cost 14,990 rupees. The Maruti Ritz is a slow selling car and in the last few months Ritz sales have seen a big drop. In month of May 2013, Maruti sold only 2,551 units of the Ritz. Earlier the monthly sales numbers were in the range of 4,000 units.
The Ritz is sold with two engines, a 1.2 K-Series petrol engine and a 1.3 liter Fiat Mulitjet diesel engine. Both engines are available with a 5 speed manual gearbox as standard. The petrol engine gets a 4 speed automatic gearbox as an option. The Ritz is exported to Europe and other parts of the world from India, as the Suzuki Splash.
