Maruti finally unveils the sexy Suzuki Kizashi at the 2010 Indian Auto Expo, mulls a late 2010 launch

Oh yes, we’ve had plenty of people complaining that the hot new D segment sedan from Maruti Suzuki, the Kizashi looks like the SX4′s elder brother. We can’t really deny that as the Kizashi and SX4 both belong to the Suzuki family and resemblances within a single brand aren’t too uncommon.

That said, the Suzuki Kizashi is a ravishingly sexy piece of kit, which Maruti finally showcased at the 2010 Indian Auto Expo. This exciting and muscular looking D Segment sedan is touted to hit Indian shores by the end of 2010. While the pricing details are sketchy at this moment, we expect Maruti to price the Kizashi very competitively, somewhere between INR 12-15 Lakhs.

This price is essential if Maruti Suzuki, which for long has been perceived as a budget brand, intends to make any inroads into the competitive Indian luxury sedan market. At that price point, the butch looking, high performance Maruti Suzuki Kizashi will trump not just the Honda Civic and the Toyota Corolla Altis, but also will take the fight right upto the Toyota Camry, the Skoda Laura and the Honda Accord too.
