The German luxury car maker Mercedes Benz is seeing India as a great market for its A class in the growing scenario for small car segment.

The car which needs no introduction and is the epitome of luxury and style, A class, is all set to roar in India in the coming times. This will be company`s entry level car in small car segment to woo Indian customers.

Its been almost a decade, the company is trying to launch A class in India but due to price considerations it has been always delayed. But now it does not seem so, according to Mr. Peter Trettin, President and CEO of Daimler, Central and Eastern Europe, Africa and Asia, “In the region I look after, India is a growth market and demand is growing because the economy is growing.’

According to him, “The competition is heating up in the small car segment in India and it is the right time to explore this opportunity.” He further added “The Company would position the A Class as its entry- level car in the country. This will be lower priced in line with competition.”

According to experts, the car might be priced around INR 16-20 lakhs, however launch of high end small cars in India has always been a risky business proposition. BMW also deferred the launch of mini because of same reasons earlier. But now India is witnessing a perfect ground for such cars, thanks to its growing economy which led to a similar growth in the demand for such cars.

A class has always enjoyed the reputation of being a majestic car with astonishing looks together with style and comfort. It brags of spacious interiors with ascertained engine high grade material usage and drive trains. It delivers excellent on road handling and cornering that make it truly a premium car.
