Mercedes Benz showcases the 2014 E-Class Coupe, Cabriolet and Estate body styles

Barely a month after showcasing the 2014 E-Class sedan facelift, German luxury car maker Mercedes Benz has unveiled the Coupe, Cabriolet and Estate versions of the facelifted E-Class. Stylistically, the 2014 E-Class Coupe, Cabriolet and Estate models are very similar to the facelifted E-Class sedan. The front end of the Coupe, Cabriolet and Estate models gets a full refresh. Likewise, the rear of these cars are similar to the facelift that the sedan version of the E-Class. Like their names suggest, the Coupe version comes with a new roofline while the Cabriolet gets a roof down option. The Estate is a station wagon version.

So, the 2014 Mercedes Benz E-Class will be available in four different body styles. Internationally, sales of the E-Class’ different variants will begin soon while the Indian launch of the sedan variant is expected to happen a few months after the international launch. In India, the E-Class will first be launched in the sedan bodystyle, following which the Coupe and Cabriolet models are expected to be released. However, the Estate version of the 2014 E-Class will not be launched in India given the fact that the market for such stationwagons in India is negligible to say the least.

The facelifted Mercedes Benz E-Class models get 6 speed manual and 7 speed dual clutch automatic transmissions depending on the variant chosen. Across the range, the cars get a start-stop system as standard. The 2013 E-Class gets 6 petrol and 3 turbo diesel engine options. These engines have been tweaked for better performance and fuel economy. The 2014 E-Class facelift is loaded to the gills with cutting edge safety features, making it one of the safest cars in its class. These safety features comprise of both active as well as passive elements.

With the variety of body styles, the 2014 Mercedes Benz E-Class will seek to lead the luxury sedan segment in markets across the globe. In India, the E-Class is the best selling luxury sedan in its segment, outselling the BMW 5-Series, the Audi A6, the Jaguar XF and the Volvo S60. Mercedes Benz India will be betting on the facelifted 2014 E-Class model to retain its leadership position. Luxury car buyers who like to be chauffeured around prefer the E-Class to other cars due to the excellent comfort and ride quality that this car offers.
