Watching Michael Schumacher go flat out, upside down through a tunnel might have whetted many a fat cats’ appetite for the stunning Mercedes Benz SLS AMG. But, what won’t is the extravagant price tag that the supercar comes with. ET reports that the Mercedes Benz SLS AMG will be in India by this Christmas and when it is here, it will cost about INR 5-6 Crores.

That is price tag that even makes the Rolls Royces and Maybachs of the world seem less ostentatiously priced.

The main reason for this whopping price tag are the duties that the Indian Government imposes for Completely Built Units of automobiles imported into India. But then again, Indians who can afford to fork out about INR 5 Crores for a luxury coupe couldn’t care less and this is whom Mercedes Benz India will be targeting. All other mortals may satiate themselves by hearing the roar of the 6,208cc V8 as the gull winged SLS AMG passes by in a fading blur.
