5 Series Beemer To Hit Indian Shores On April 30th

Sniffing tough competition from its rivals – Mercedes Benz, BMW India has pulled the launch of its E-class competitor, BMW 5 series, by 2 months. The car will be launched in India on 30th of April, a few months after its international launch.

BMW has modified the assembly line in its Chennai plant for the knockdown kits of the new cars in a record time and is selling out the old 5-series with heavy discounts to clear the stock.

However, the details of the variants have not been confirmed. There are speculations of 535i and 530d to be on offer as the top end petrol and diesel.

With the launch of this new model, company expects to grab its loosing share of the market to the new Merc E-class.
