Auto Expo Spy-leak:Latest WagonR much resembles Maruti Estilo

Thanks to Overdrive magazine, we have here few leaked snapshots of the Suzuki WagonR facelift. We had also reported about Maruti Wagon R facelift earlier.

New Maruti WagonR 2011 Model Rear

Perhaps pacified by the success of Estilo, guys at Maruti seem to have decided to go for design resemblance this time. One needs not be a meticulous car aficionado to spot the differences in Maruti’s second-most-popular car seen in pics and Estilo. We can see almost identical rears; interiors might be borrowed from Estillo with patches from Swift. Chrome finish, swept back headlamps and rounded indicator holdings smarten up the looks.

However, structural resemblance is not everything the Wagon R has to be attributed with. For the first time this hatchback has been installed with powerful 1.0-liter 3-cylinder K-Series engine which will make it quick and quirky on the roads. Coupled with overhauled transmission, buyers can expect considerable cost-savings with an optimized performance. The engines of 660cc Suzuki model will fully comply with Bharat Stage-4 gas norms.

Suzuki WagonR has been the most popular Maruti after Alto. However, in recent times Hyundai i10 has taken away the accolade of India’s 2nd best selling car from WagonR. With reduced sales, Maruti would have come up with an entirely new JDM WagonR.

Unfortunate disappointment for Indian car buffs for sure !
