The next generation of the BMW 3-Series could just be around the corner and we could see it drive into India soon. Autoblog’s shutterbugs have caught the new 3 Series testing. Not much can be said about the design though from the psychedelic camouflage. Still, certain details about the car can be clearly seen in the pictures.

2012 BMW 3 Series

The new 3 Series gets F10 5 Series-ish tail lamp treatment with LEDs. The corporate kidney grille on the front is more upright this time around and the headlights look meaner. The 3-Series seems to be moving from the just-some-other-car image to a premium car that has got the presence. The earlier models were a tad boring compared to the 5 Series.

To be fair, the old 3 Series was a bit too understated. The mid-life facelift did work though. The bulging hood and the re-designed bumper did give it a more aggressive stance. Expect the new 3-Series to break cover in September 2011 during the Frankfurt Motor Show.

In India, BMW offers two petrol and two diesel engines in the 3-Series with power ranging from 154 bhp to 168 bhp. The new 3-Series could get modern features like HUD, Park-Assist and rear view camera.
