The 2013 Nissan Sunny Special Edition Sedan
The Sunny sedan is the Japanese car maker’s best selling car model in India. In the next few months, Nissan India will launch a new variant of the Sunny equipped with an CVT automatic gearbox. The CVT gearbox equipped Sunny will come only with a petrol engine option. The diesel powered Sunny powered by the 1.5 Liter K9K turbo diesel engine will continue to be offered with a 5 speed manual gearbox. Nissan also exports the Sunny sedan from India while also lending the car model to alliance partner Renault.
Renault India sells the badge engineered Sunny sedan in the form of the Scala. Earlier this year, Renault launched the CVT automatic gearbox equipped Scala sedan in India, beating Nissan to the post. So, it is just a matter of time before Nissan joint the automatic C-segment sedan brigade with the Sunny Automatic. The Sunny Automatic, like the rest of the Sunny sedan range, is expected to undercut the Scala in terms of pricing. So, if you’re looking for higher value in the automatic C-Segment sedan space in India, you might want to wait for a couple of months as the Sunny Automatic is just around the corner.
