Official AC Upgrade for petrol Fiat Punto and Linea variants

2011 Fiat Grande Punto

2011 Fiat Grande Punto

Folks owning petrol variants of the two gorgeous Italian beauties, the Fiat Grande Punto Hatchback and the Fiat Linea Sedan have, for some time now, been complaining about the Air Conditioner’s lack of effective cooling when outside temperatures hit the 40 degree mark. And Fiat India was in the process of redesigning the entire HVAC system of the Petrol Linea and Grande Punto since October of 2010. With the sultry Indian summer just around the corner, Fiat India seems to have to gotten it’s act right by offering a AC upgrade under warranty for all the existing owners of the petrol variants of the Fiat Linea and Grande Punto.

This is a goodwill gesture from Fiat India, to allay the air conditioning problems that Fiat Grande Punto Petrol and Linea Petrol owners have been facing and hence, would carry no extra cost. If you drive a Grande Punto Petrol or a Fiat Linea Petrol, and are not very happy with the cooling effect your Air Conditioner has, you might just want to get in touch with Fiat’s customer care at 1800-209-5556. We, for our part feel that this gesture from Fiat India, would in a small way, help in allaying fears that prospective Fiat buyers have about Fiat’s responsiveness to Fiat car owners’ problems.

After the ac upgradation the engine buzzing noise is so loud that even 15 mins inside the car is sure to give a headache. It can be heard by someone standing even 15-20 meters away. My dealer Bharti automobiles/Mumbai says that it is the same case with all these recent ac upgrades. They claim that Fiat has provided them with these new ac upgradation kit with larger fans & that they cannot do anything about it. They accept that the noise is much beyond normal but they are helpless! Anybody else facing a similar concern??
