Its 2010 and whatever happens, all eyes will turn towards South Africa this June and July. Why?

The World Cup is back and with it comes a lot of branding, merchandising and all the hoop-lah that it goes with. And the automotive industry is not to be left behind in this either.

In April, Jeep launched a Special edition of the 2010 Jeep Compass for the World Cup, Opel have decided not be outdone and has revealed a brand new limited edition Corsa supermini. The Special Edition Corsa has been dedicated to Germany’s soccer team which will compete in the most coveted trophy in the world.

As the football fever has begun to rise with most European leagues coming to a close and people start splurging money to get as close to the action as possible, Opel have gone ahead and brought out something for the fans of the German national team. The German SE Corsa Football Championship Edition boasts the soccer team’s colours. The picture released by Opel outline the resemblance of the Home Jersey sported by the team. Whether they will release another option of colours with the away jersey in mind, we dont know!

The car also features a set of 17-inch wheels in black. There will be dark tinted head and taillights, sport seats, aluminium pedals, a leather steering wheel and a center console in piano black. Features include a CD radio with steering wheel functionality, electric windows and central locking. Air-Conditioning will keep the climate normalized inside the vehicle as the temperatures on the pitch rise.
