The price and mileage details of the facelifted Maruti Suzuki Swift have been revealed even before the official launch of the car in India. The Swift Facelift will be launched in the coming days. Some reports say that the car will be launched in India on the October 24th. We don’t have reason to disbelieve these reports as the demo cars of the Swift are already ready and are on their way to dealerships. Maruti Suzuki has also manufactured a large quantity of Swift Facelifts that are ready to be sold to buyers all over India. So the only thing remaining is the official launch.
The mileage of the Swift Facelift has improved on both the petrol and diesel models. The 1.2 liter K series petrol engine equipped model is now capable of giving a mileage of 20.4 kpl. The diesel powered Swift’s fuel efficiency has increased to 25.2 kpl. The mileage figures are for the petrol and diesel Swift equipped with a 5 speed manual gearbox. These figures have been certified by ARAI and are confirmed by a leaked brochure of the Swift. By making the Swift more fuel efficient, Maruti Suzuki will gain more buyers as high mileage is a main criteria for the small car buyer in India.
Apart from the higher mileage, both the petrol and diesel Swifts get many new features too. The front bumpers get fog lamp inserts. Alloy wheels, reverse parking sensors, Bluetooth, auto folding ORVMs, keyless entry and engine start-stop button are the other new features. The prices of the Swift Facelift have been leaked. The petrol model is sold in LXI, LXI(O), VXI and ZXI variants and the diesel model is sold in LDI, VDI and ZDI variants. The ZXI and ZDI variants of the Swift get ABS and driver+passenger airbags. Maruti Suzuki has now added ABS as an option to VXI and VDI trims.
