Renault Fluence Diesel gets a mild facelift for the festive season at no extra cost!

When the Renault Fluence Sedan was launched a few months ago, Renault India surprised one and all by stripping out the diesel engined version to form its base variant while the fully loaded petrol variant formed the top end model in the Fluence line up. Fluence Diesel car buyers however missed many creature comforts in the car as it was quite stripped out compared to the petrol model as well as other cars in its category.This festive season though, will bring some cheer for Fluence Diesel buyers.

Renault India dealers are offering the Fluence Diesel with its seats done up with Stanley leather to add comfort and a modicum of premium-ness to the Fluence Sedan. Also thrown into the package as a sweetener are parking sensors. These two new features are being offered by Renault India as dealer fitments to boost sales of the Fluence Diesel during this year’s festive season of Dusshera and Diwali.

The best part about these extra features are that they don’t come with any increase in price of the Renault Fluence Diesel Sedan, which adds to the festive spirit. The Renault Fluence is powered by a 1.5 liter, common rail, turbodiesel engine good for a peak power of 105 Bhp and 240 Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated to a six speed manual transmission. The high point of this diesel engine is the ARAI certified fuel economy number of 22 KMPL, which makes the Fluence the most fuel efficient diesel sedan in its class.

While we had earlier reported about the Fluence Diesel coming with a host of new features to match the petrol sedan’s features, with a price increase to boot, it seems that Renault India has stuck to keeping the Fluence Diesel’s price at the same levels as a higher price would not do the Fluence Diesel’s sales any good considering the slump in car sales in India. This leaves us wondering whether this is the facelift Renault has been planning for the Fluence Diesel.
