Suzuki Kizashi Car Launch India in October 2010: To be Imported as CBU from Japan

 

Suzuki’s flagship model, Kizashi which was unveiled at the 2010 Delhi Auto Expo is all set to take things into a new territory for the company in India.

Kizashi which means ‘a sign of great things to come’, is one of the most important model for the company in India and around the world. It is the company’s sixth world-stratergic model and will restructure the brand of the company as a small car maker.

According to company sources, “Kizashi is very much on the company’s drawing board. But right now, Maruti will follow CBU route from its Sagara plant in Japan during this calendar year. Eventually, the company may consider importing CKD kits from the same plant later, subject to market demand”.

The car is already on sale in Japan since 21st October 2009 and in America since 1st December 2009.

According to reports, Maruti has confirmed to a dealer in Delhi about the car’s launch in October. According to this dealer, “The price bracket of Kizashi will be Rs. 12-14 lakh and it will be the most feature-rich car amongst Maruti’s portfolio”.

American Suzuki Motor Corp (Automotive Marketing and Public Relations) Vice-President Gene Brown told PTI on the sidelines of the Chicago Auto Show that , “The Kizashi is going to be sold in India. I do not think the launch in India is that far in the future”.

The Kizashi comes with front wheel drive and all wheel drive as option based on SX-4s i-AWD system. It is expected to be launched with a 2.4L VVT all aluminium block in India, with either a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) or a six-speed manual transmission. The car has been tested and tuned all around the world in varying weather conditions to achieve the best driveability.

The feature packed Kizashi comes with 18 inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery and a 425-watt Rockford Fosgate audio system with iPod connectivity and Bluetooth capability.

List of safety features include anti-lock braking system, electronic braking-force distribution, and an ESP. This provides traction control that heightens driver confidence by promoting stability during cornering maneuvers, acceleration, and emergency maneuvers and on slippery roads.

And if this is not enough to prevent a crash, then front seatbelts have pre-tensioners and force limiters and six to eight airbags will surely protect your loved ones from any serious injuries.
