Tata Indigo e-CS launched: Most Fuel Efficient Sedan with a Mileage of 23KMPL

As we had reported earlier, TATA Motors have come out with a BS 4 version of the Indigo CS car. Company claims the car to be the the most fuel efficient sedan in the country with the 1.4 litre CR4 Common Rail Diesel engine giving ARAI approved mileage of 23.03 kmpl.
The diesel engine churns out 70 PS of power @ 4,000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque @ 1,800 – 3,000 rpm , whereas a 1.2L MPFi petrol engine with a power output of 62PS @ 5,000 rpm and 100 Nm of torque @ 2,700 rpm is also on offer. Both the engines are coupled to a 5 forward and a reverse speed gearbox.
Indigo e-CS interiors
On the outside, the car gets a new grille design, body coloured bumpers with fog lamps, new alloy wheels and body coloured ORVMs with integrated indicators. The interiors have been given a new two tone Siena colour scheme – Dune biege and coco brown look to make it look more upmarket. A new instrument cluster with chrome rings, music system with bluetooth and AUX-IN and an automatic gradient climb assist add up to the features list.

I hAve seen the lx model of the vehicle cs but found wheel covers fitted instead of the alloys. But the persual of ur site shows that the vehicle is to have alloy wheels plz clarify.

u can get indigo Cs BS IV-eLS and elx (disel) at 4.95 lacs. and 5.19 lac. respectively..
and BS IV (petrol) eGLS and eGLX at 4.12 lacs.and 4.35 lacs. respectively in bangalore.
and for palakkad cost for diesel versions are 4.92 and 5.15 respectively and 4.09 and 4.32 for petrol respectively..

Good improvement. But I feel that the Quadrajet Diesel Engine should be provided to Indigo CS. Since Tata has discontinued regular Indigo, now they should introduce CS Marina, which will be a more practical car. Also, the Indigo CS does not look good from all angles.

For the last eleven years first I purchased Indica (Fully loaded) 7 then in 2004 i bought Indigo LX.
Both the cars were very good. I was fully satisfide with the performance,economy & service provided to me. Indigo eCS seems tobe good car. Ishall purchase top Diesel Model when it comes to the market. Hearty congratulations to Rattan Tata for the launch of another gem in the market.

seriously. the car is a bomb. petrol mileage is 15.5 in city and 18.3 on highway where as diesel gives 18.5 and 20.8 respectively.
- I have used 2 Indica DLS during the period 2004 to 2008 and an Indigo CS-LS since 2008 till now. What I find in thall these cars is that the Indica DLS is under powered and under torquey, while the CS has sufficient power & torque. But the engine requires attention almost every 2 months to stop the rattling noise of the Fan Belt ?? This is very irritating. However, the interior space if fantastic in both these vehicles. Now I want to change my CS and would prefer a Non-Tata diesel this time just to see how better they are. Can any one suggest a replacement for my Indigo CS ?

I have read somewhere recently that we will have a Indigo-eCS Royale version soon with Alloy wheels and Leather seat covers etc. — Here I would like to request Tata Motors not to hurry the launch of this Luxury model. Tata’s should also address the following issues in this Royale version. (1) Adjust and provide a comfortable driving position, (2) provide Quadrajet BS-IV engine as an option, (3) Reintroduce rear Cabin lamp (should be same as the front cabin lamp), (4) Improve Seat Cushion for rear seats & replace Front seats by Vista like seats. — Will this message reach Tata Motors in time ??

the indigo ecs has only one problem that is it does not come with many colour variants.Only 4 colours are available.out of which royal burgandy is the best one.as like other cars if they come up with more colour variants it would have been nice.

Tata Motors recently launched Indica with CR4 engine (25 kmpl) and is offering a top model with Alloy wheels. But I feel that the Indigo eCS should have got Alloy Wheels first. The Indigo eCS – Supreme (my imaginary luxury model) should be launched by Tata Motors immediately with (1) 15″ Alloy Wheels, (2) Quadrajet Diesel Engine, (3) Rear seats with adjustable Headrests, (4) Front & Rear Cabin Lamps, (5) all seats replaced by Indigo Vista type seats, (6) Dashboard may be replaced by Manza type, (7) Provide ABS atleast, if not front Airbags. This model may be priced at about a Lakh Rupees more than present Indigo eCS LX. There are many potential buyers like me waiting to grab this car.

The front side design of the car is not impressive. it is just like the indigo. the front side should be elevated like the brear and grill should me more prominent. i wish to know about the mileage, after sale serevices around kottayam, kerala.
