Tata Motors is running a contest to promote the soon-to-be-launched Indica Vista D90 diesel hatchback
Though the Tata Indica Vista with the 90 Bhp Multijet diesel engine is already making its way into Tata Motors’ showrooms across the country, the car maker is yet to launch this car officially. The official launch is scheduled to happen in early January 2013, after which the car is expected to be sold across the country. Even though the official launch hasn’t happened yet. dealers are taking bookings. Also, the Indica Vista with the more powerful engine will be available in two trim levels, VX and ZX. The car will be priced between INR 5.75 lakhs and INR 6.45 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi.
Dubbed the Vista D90, the D90 moniker stands for the 90 Bhp power output that the Fiat Multijet turbo diesel engine will produce when it gets the variable geometry turbocharger treatment. Talking of which, this engine is already available in the Indigo Manza diesel sedan. The 1.3 Liter Fiat Multijet engine is sourced by Tata Motors to power two of its cars, the Indica Vista and the Indigo Manza. While the Indica Vista was powered by the lower spec version of the 1.3 Liter turbo diesel engine outputting 75 Bhp-190 Nm, the Manza came with the more powerful version of this engine with a power and torque output of 90 Bhp-200 Nm.
This will be the same state of tune in which the Indica Vista D90 will now be available in. The power and torque bump up is courtesy a variable geometry turbocharger. Apart from the more powerful diesel engine, the Vista D90 hatchback will also borrow the dashboard from the Manza. This is another welcome addition given the fact that the older, centrally mounted dashboard design was something that many buyers had reservations about. The car will also get many other features justifying its position as the top of the line variant in the Indica Vista line up. Here’s a round up.
* Digital Intelligence – Drive information system which displays the instantaneous fuel consumption, average fuel consumption, digital clock, distance to empty and outside ambient temperature.
* Single Touch Drive Side Power Window
* Follow Me Home Headlamps
* Blacked Out Roof
The car will also get two additional colors in the form of the Jet Silver and Ultra Violet shades. Meanwhile, Tata Motors has kickstarted a campaign through which you could end up winning a spanking new Indica Vista D90 and many other prizes. Click here to find out more.
