The new Tata Nano is more exciting than ever as the car now comes with a range of new features through the 2013 edition. The 2013 Nano was unvieled yesterday at Tata Motors’ Pimpri factory by Mr. Karl Slym, the MD of the Indian car maker. Poor sales of Tata Nano is likely to improve by a small bit due to the addition of customer centric features through the latest refresh. On the sidelines of the launch of 4 refreshed car models, Tata Motors announced Horizonext, an aggressive customer focused strategy for its passenger vehicle business.
The new 2013 Nano comes with lots of features like remote keyless entry, twin glovebox, music system with 4 speakers and bluetooth, USB, Aux connectivity.
On the exterior side, 3 new colours are added to the Tata Nano, along with new features like Chrome accents and redesigned bumpers. The Tata Nano also comes with new personalization kits.
In addition to the refresh for the petrol mode, Tata Motors also showcased the CNG variant of Nano yesterday. The CNG variant series of Nano, Indica and Indigo is known as the ‘E-MAX’ series. The Tata Nano petrol comes with 624cc engine that delivers 38Ps and 51Nm of torque, and an ARAI certified fuel economy of 25.4 kmpl. With kerb weight of 600kg, Tata Nano is the lowest CO2 emitting car among cars in India.
Nano CNG will come with 33PS on CNG model and the best part about the CNG Nano is that it will not compromise boot space. The new Nano comes with foldable rear seats for access to the boot space. Nano CNG tanks are placed under driver and co-driver seat with 32 liter overall capacity. The port for filling CNG is placed close to the petrol filling port. Tata Motors claims that the Nano CNG will give a mileage of 36km/kg of CNG, thus giving the small car a combined range of 400 kms, on petrol and CNG.
The CNG powered Nano will be available in Tata showrooms in 90 days from now while the petrol powered 2013 Nano will reach dealers by early July.
