Toyota is betting big on it’s Economical Family Car concept(EFC) targeting the car buying populace of the developing nations. Named the Etios, the world launch of this car will take place right here in India, at the 2010 Indian Auto Expo.

We managed to lay our hands on a few spy pics of the hugely anticipated Toyota Etios. Take a dekko.

Meanwhile, the Toyota Etios will come in two versions:,

Hatchback Version
Notchback version

The Etios Notchback/Sedan will hit the Indian roads first in late 2010 while the Etios Hatchback will follow after three months. Currently, Toyota plans a 1.4 Liter diesel engine and a 1.2 liter petrol to make most of the lower excise duties for small cars.

While developing the car economically, Toyota has promised to deliver the trademark high quality all it’s products come with. That said, the Etios might just see plenty of cost cutting like cheaper but long lasting seats and interiors for it to be priced very competitively.

The Toyota Etios will aim squarely for the Maruti Suzuki Swift and will thus be priced at INR 5-6 lakh. The sedan version will be priced slightly higher at INR 6-7 Lakh. Stay glued to ICB as we bring you the latest buzz on the Toyota Etios from the 2010 Indian Auto Expo.
