Yes, the Toyota Prius Hybrid has just been launched in India during the 2010 Indian Auto Expo. Toyota Kirloskar Motors have finally brought the third generation version of eco friendly hybrid car to Indian shores.The Toyota Prius features with a 1.8 litre petrol engine with 100 ps of maximum power which will work in conjunction with an electronic motor, thus delivering a total of 136 ps.

The aerodynamic Toyota Prius Hybrid will pierce the air with an ultra low coefficient of drag at .25 cd. All these nifty features will work in tandem to increase efficiency while cutting down on emissions. Everything looks nice and rosy till you hear the price tag the Toyota Prius Hybrid commands.

You will have to shell out anywhere between INR 26.55 Lakhs to INR 27.86 Lakhs depending on the variant of the Prius you choose to drive home in.

This, in our opinion will be biggest stumbling block for the Toyota Prius in the ultra price sensitie Indian car market.
