Spied while testing in the confines of Pune city by our reader Suraj Sudhir Desai, is this Volkswagen Golf hatchback. The car seen in the pictures is the TDi diesel version of the car, equipped with Volkswagen’s Bluemotion fuel saving technology.

The Bluemotion technology consists of enhancements to various components of the car such as the engine, body and tyres in order to make the car lighter, more aerodynamic and there by more fuel efficient.

VW Golf being currently tested might only be for the sake of testing a new engine under the hood or for testing the suitability of Volkswagen’s Bluemotion technology for Indian road conditions. The possibility of the Golf hitting Indian shores is very remote given the fact that the car, even if locally assembled, will be priced upwards of the Polo in the Indian market, there by eliminating its chances of being a success in the crowded hatchback segment of the Indian car market.

but keeping in view of the rather lack of production capabilities (for now) and the waiting period ppl have had for the polo and also adding in the vento production, they will, in all likelihood lauch the golf next year.

HOPE they lauch this is a 4-pot engine,
one of the main reason for me not to buy one was the 3-pot engine.
& i love hatches, so no sedan (Vento) for me.
