2011 Volkswagen Polo GTI: Fast Supermini at Geneva Motor Show 2010
Polo GTI Car
Close on the heels of the Polo India launch, VW has pulled the covers off the Polo GTI. Sitting at the VW stall at the Geneva show, the Polo GTI looks handsome and a bit like its older brother, the Golf GTI.
The supermini houses a 1.4 litre engine developing a smooth 177 bhp. With a supercharger assisting the turbocharger, the Polo GTI hits 100 kph from standstill in 6.9 seconds and tops out a nice 227 kph.
Assisted with a seven-speed DSG gearbox and stiffer and lower sprung err…springs, the Polo GTI makes a good alternative to the more mental Renault Clio 200.
While it looks very interesting but it is unlikely that the GTI version of the Polo will hit Indian shores anytime soon. Alas.
