Have you watched the Mahindra XUV500 SUV’s brand new TV Ad yet?

Mahindra has just put together a brand new ad for its best selling flagship crossover, the XUV500. We aren’t too sure whether the XUV500 needs any advertising at all, for the SUV has gone on to log over 6000 bookings within three days of Mahindra reopening bookings for this big selling product. The clamour around the XUV500 is only getting bigger by the day and the latest Mahindra ad seems to suggest just that. For now, here’s the new Mahindra XUV500 Ad.

Meanwhile, the second round of bookings for the XUV500 close on the 3rd of February, 2012, with Mahindra planning to resort to a lucky draw if the number of bookings exceeds 7,200. By the looks of it, the XUV500 will easily hurtle past the 7,200 bookings mark with five full days left for bookings to close. So, the random allocation model based on a computer algorithm seems to be in order.

Mahindra is also taking a hefty booking deposit of INR 80,000 for the XUV500 to prevent multiple bookings by a single individual. So, steps are indeed being taken by the automaker to ensure that the booking process is free and fair. This move comes after widespread complaints of prospective XUV500 customers being charged extra by oily Mahindra dealers, planning to make a quick buck riding on the XUV500′s high demand.

The last time we had such a random allocation process was in case of the Tata Nano, a car that saw much more demand initially, than the XUV500. Now though, the Nano is available off the shelf. Over a period of time, the XUV500 is also expected to be available off the shelf or with a minimal waiting period once the demand for the XUV500 stabilizes. Mahindra, for its part has increased production of the XUV500 at its Chakan plant off Pune, to 3000 units a month.
