Yamamoto replaces Chandhok again for the Hungary GP this weekend
HRT has decided to give Karun’s seat yet again to the Japanese driver Sakon Yamamoto. Yamamoto has been given Karun’s race seat for the second time reportedly due to a $5 million sponsorship. Selection of the Japanese driver even after a relatively poor performance during the qualifying session of the German GP raises a few question on the team’s selection. Read more
2010 German GP : Ferrari 1-2 with Alonso taking the top spot
Fernando Alonso led Ferrari to a 1-2 finish with a controversial victory at the 2010 German GP. Sebastian Vettel, who performed exceptionally well during the qualifying session couldn’t retain his pole position and lost it to the two ferraris at the very beginning of the race. Felipe Massa took full advantage of Vettel’s bad start and went ahead to claim the number one spot. The race saw the two ferrari drivers fight out for the top stop till a controversial move by Massa saw Alonso taking the top position and retaining it till the chequered flag. Read more
2010 German GP: Qualifying
Ferrari finally returned to the top of the time sheets in the second free practice at Hockenheim. Alonso posted a time of 1’16.265 followed by Vettel and Massa. Qualifying started on a green track (without any rubber laid on the tarmac) thanks to an overnight shower. Almost all the drivers seemed to struggle on the harder compound tyres with little or no grip. This was made evident by the crash of Force India driver Tonio Liuzzi. Liuzzi ran a bit wide into the last corner and spun-off crashing into the pit wall. The stewards had to stop the race while the debris was recoverd.
2010 German GP at Hockenheim: Preview
The German grand prix will head to Hockenheim this season. With six German drivers on the grid, it is going to be a sure treat for the German fans. Speaking of which, Michael Shumacher will be seen in action after a gap of 4 years.
Volkswagen Polo Race Cup 2010: Vishnu Prasad wins 1st race of Round 2 at Coimbatore

Vishnu Prasad, the 17 year old driver from Chennai, today won the 1st race in Round 2 of the Volkswagen-JK Tyre Polo Cup India 2010 at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore. The racer from Chennai led from start to finish in the 20 lap race as he became only the second winner of the Polo Cup today. He completed the race in 27 minutes and 57.043 seconds covered a total of 42 kilometres. He was followed home closely by Sahil Shelar from Pune and Karthik Shankar from Hyderabad. Read more
2010 MotoGP at Sachsenring: Raceday
An impressive performance by Dani Pedrosa put him in the top spot at the eni Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland. Victory in Germany resulted in the Spaniard securing second position in the 2010 MotoGP Championship. Lorenzo and Casey Stoner followed Pedrossa to second and third spots on the podium.
2010 MotoGP at Sachsenring: Qualifying
Saturday’s qualifying session started with rain clouds looming just over the horizon. However, it wasn’t the rain that stopped the race. It was an oil-spill from Lorenzo’s M1 that forced the marshals to stop the session. By then, Lorenzo had set a fastest time of 1’21.817. Ben Spies and Randy de Puniet were the victims of the oil-spill which brought out the red flag. The session was terminated with 25 minutes remaining.
Ferrari 458 Challenge revealed
Ferrari 458 Challenge, a hardcore, light weight knife-edge racer from Maranello will be competing in Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli race series starting in 2011. Based on the 458 Italia this mid-engined track car has the same direct-injection, 4.5-litre V8 powerplant as the regular car, producing 562bhp at 9000rpm.

Citroen looks all set to replace the C4 WRC sooner or later with its new DS3 WRC which was caught testing in France. Testing the car out over the tarmac was six-time world champion Sebastien Loeb.
Villeneuve to set up F1 Team for 2011

What do out-of-work Formula 1 drivers do for a living apart from compete in motorcycle races? Well, 1997 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve is looking to set up his own Formula 1 race team christened “Villeneuve Racing”. The team is to compete in Formula 1 next season, according to German auto glossy, Auto Motor und Sport. The magazine claims that Villeneuve Racing would function from the friendly Formula 1 team neighbourhood, England and that it is one of the three candidates for the 13th and final place in pit lane. Rumors be damned, the Iceman Kimi Raikkonen will stay put in WRC for 2011
Days ago, the world wide web was agog with buzz about former F1 pace ace Kimi Raikkonen set to return to F1. The bubble seems to have burst now as AutoSport reports that Kimi will stay put in WRC, driving for the RedBull Citroen WRC team. Raikkonen seems very serious about his WRC career as of now and also wants to further his good relationship with energy drink giant, RedBull, giving rise to new speculation that the Iceman might be hitch an F1 ride sometime in the future with the RedBull F1 team. Sachsenring MotoGP: Valentino Rossi returns, well almost!
Italian MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi is all set to make a comeback, returning from a broken leg, he sustained earlier this year after crashing spectacularly at Mugello. In all probability, Rossi will make his comeback at the German leg of the MotoGP scheduled to be held at the Sachsenring. Iceman Kimi Raikkonen and Mercedes: The tongues start wagging as eyebrows get raised
Mercedes Benz Motorsport’s Vice President Norbert Haug paid a courtesy visit to Kimi Raikkonen at the latter’s Swiss home during the Silverstone racing weekend and ever since tongues have been wagging all across the F1 circuit of Kimi Raikkonen’s possible return to the F1 fold with Mercedes next season. If indeed that happens either F1 Great Michael Schumacher or the talented young driver Nico Rosberg would have to find alternate motor homes. Or if they can, Mercedes might as well have a three driver line up for the 2011 F1 Championship. Read more
2010 Rally Bulgaria: Citroen 1-2-3-4
Sebastien Loeb does it again. Loeb sealed victory at Rally Bulgaria on the final day. Victory in round 7 of the 2010 season of the World Rally Championship takes him one step closer to yet another World Championship crown. Loeb extends his lead over his rivals. Rally Bulgaria will go down in the history books as one of the best for Citroen after their record breaking 1-2-3-4 finish on Sunday.
FIA: Safety car rules amended, again.
FIA has altered the safety car regulations in wake of the incidents that took place during the European Grand Prix in Valencia. The new rules came into effect from the British GP at Silverstone.
