Mahindra Maxximo Mini Van Launched at INR 3.2 Lakhs!

The Mahindra Maxximo is one of the better looking Mahindras even though it is a commercial vehicle whose owners care a fig for the way their rides look. Targeting the growing people mover segment, which is currently dominated by market leader, the Tata Ace Magic, Mahindra has fired it’s own salvo in the form of the Mahindra Maxximo Mini Van.

The Mahindra Maxximo Mini Van has been priced at INR 3.2 Lakhs, Ex-Showroom Mumbai, a price that is dearer than the Tata Ace Magic by a good 30 thousand rupees. For the higher premium Mahindra seems to be asking for the Maxximo Mini Van, here are the extra/improved features on offer that on paper at least, seem better than that of the Tata Ace Magic.

The Mahindra Maxximo Mini Van comes with the same 900cc, 25 Bhp-55 Nm CRDe diesel engine delivering 18 KMPL. which is the same one that is found on the Maxximo Pick Up. These figures are much higher than that of the Tata Ace Magic’s indirect injection diesel engine which produces an output of 16 Bhp-38 Nm.

But the fact remains that we’ve been hearing a lot of complaints about reliability issues on the Maxximo’s engine and gearbox. So, we hope that Mahindra has sorted out all the niggles in the Maxximo Mini Van. Also, the Maxximo’s driver cabin is a lot more refined than the Tata Ace Magic and this is another point in the Maxximo Mini Van’s favor.

Load sensitive proportioning valve brakes and bigger box sections on the monocoque body are said to improve safety and these are a coupe of features the competition, read the Tata Ace Magic falls short of. The overall cabin of the Maxximo Mini Van also looks better appointed and independent front suspension up front will make the ride quality better, for the driver and copassenger at least.

All in all, the overall features on the Mahindra Maxximo Mini Van seem clearly better than the Tata Ace Magic, thus justifying the higher asking price of INR 3.2 Lakhs. The Maruti Omni too might face more than some heat as the Maxximo Mini Van brings with it diesel economy too. Over to the market for it’s verdict.
