Citroen 2CV based Burton Electric is an electric kit car

Burton Electric is based on a French classic’s chassis, more precisely, the all electric car is built on around a Citroen 2CV. The car is termed as “the world’s most sustainable sportscar” by Burton. The electric car runs on a 16 Kwh lithium-iron-phosphate battery coupled to a 25 Kwh electric motor.

With a full charge, Burton claims, the car can cover 87 miles and has a top speed of 75 mph thanks to its lightweight construction. The Burton Electric is priced at €38,000 which seems a lot for an electric 2CV but since its unique and exclusive the high price seems to be bargain after all.

Burton Car Company is the biggest sports car manufacturer based in the Netherlands and specializes in 2CV tuning and is involved in 2CV modification. They also have the biggest 2CV shops in the world.
