Bicycling keeps one fit but sometimes one does miss the effortless comfort of riding a motorbike or scooter. So what if you get a two wheeler that is both a bicycle as well as an electric vehicle rolled into one package? Hero Electric, a leading electric vehicle manufacturer in India has just launched such a product in India.

Called the Avoir, the bicycle from Hero Electric is battery powered and has a top speed of 25 kmph. Hero Electric called the Avior an e-cycle that is mainly meant for buyers in the big cities and towns of India. When you don’t feel like using battery power, you can always switch back to pedal power. The Avior comes with alloy wheels and a battery that gets fully charged in 9-10 hours.

The e-cycle comes in two models, Avior AMX and Avior AFX. The AMX model is meant for male cyclists and the AFX for female cyclists. The Avior AMF is priced at at Rs. 19,290  and the Avior AFX at Rs. 18,990, on road Delhi. The AMX is available in black and AFX is available in burgundy colour. The main difference between both cycles is that the AFX has a smaller frame size meant to suit women riders. It also has a basket at front.

Sohinder Gill, the Global CEO of Hero Electric made the following statement at the launch of the Avior e-cycles in India,

Hero Electric with its commitment to the Indian EV industry has always prioritised innovation and quality. With the expected growth in the Indian EV industry, we are thrilled to introduce leading global technology to our patrons. We are hopeful that our Indian consumers will welcome this change and flaunt the all-new pedallac joining in the e-vehicle revolution. We continue our support to preserve the pristine ecology and contribute least to the environmental pollution. With the growing concern over the traffic grid lock in our country, we are aware of the impelling issues faced by the public. In the absence of favourable weather and roads, cycling is often seen as a tedious and strenuous activity by the general masses across India. Whilst cycling is also being adopted as fitness experience, we with this new flagship product hope to take cycling experience to the next level with the added comfort of Avior e-cycles.
