Bottas leads again after Free Practice 2 at the 2017 Formula 1 British Grand Prix ahead of his Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton.
Using super softs, Valterri Bottas managed to set the fastest time of 1 minute 28.496 seconds around Silverstone, 0.047 seconds ahead of his teammate Hamilton who had a bit of an off roading adventure at Chapel. Raikkonen was third fastest with a fair bit of the margin to the Silver Arrows ahead of his Ferrari teammate Sebastian Vettel.
Red Bulls were down in 5th and 6th with the Dutchman Verstappen leading Ricciardo. Hulkenberg managed to improve tremendously to jump to 7th from 17th. His teammate Palmer still only managed to hold onto his old position of 18th in FP1. Massa was 8th fastest followed by Alonso in 9th. Esteban Ocon took the 10th fastest position.
Raikkonen also had a spot of off roading at Becketts but managed to got going again. Massa and Verstappen had a slight coming in together but nothing major came out of it with both drivers continuing their long runs. Palmer and Sainz also had spins during their runs but the cars have managed to keep their body work intact. Sainz though had damage to his under body and spend a considerable bit of time in the pits before rejoining the action.
There wasn’t any of the sun that greeted the drivers on Wednesday as they had their fun outing on Sunday in central London as conditions were cold and cloudy. Bottas though still managed to keep his head up despite a penalty coming his way.
Too lazy to type anything, so re quoting from the best F1 driver in the world:
“On a given day, a given circumstance, you think you have a limit. And you then go for this limit and you touch this limit, and you think, 'Okay, this is the limit'. And so you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. With your mind power, your determination, your instinct, and the experience as well, you can fly very high.”
