2010 MV Agusta F4s get the Recall Blues, yet again!
A while ago, 2010 MV Agusta F4s were recalled for faulty air filters that could potentially come loose and allow foreign particles to enter the engine, causing potential engine seizures. This time, 2010 MV Agusta F4s are being recalled for swing arm issues which could lead to the swing arm cracking due to the rear subframe breaking on account of the upper fixture points not being strong enough to withstand the various stresses that act upon the swing arm.
MV Agusta dealers have been advised to contact customers and install fixed rear subframes free of charge. Now, while this would be acceptable on motorcycles that are mass produced in massive factories where attention to detail isn’t the biggest of priorities, such recalls on MV Agustas are a shame really. This, considering the fact that MV Agusta prides itself on hand crafting it’s motorcycles with tremendous attention to detail and making sure that each of it’s superbikes work exactly as designed to be by charging a hefty premium on it’s motorcycle range.
So, MV Agusta really need to roll up their sleeves and make sure that this is the last we;ll hear about such recall blues as it is simply not good for a brand that produces a very small quantity of motorcycles while compared to larger operations. Recalls such as these only hint at bad quality management and could potentially be very damaging to the brand’s reputation and the damage could take years to undo.
