2011 Yamaha R15 to cost lesser?

2011 Yamaha R15

2011 Yamaha R15

Now don’t throw bricks at us as the 2011 Yamaha R15, which we anticipated to be launched in January hasn’t yet broken cover. But what we have from this month’s print edition of AutoCar India is pretty interesting to say the least. First of all, the 2011 Yamaha R15 is indeed coming and the best part of it all, if ACI is to be believed is the fact that, the 2011 Yamaha R15 will see a price cut of up to INR 10,000. Now, that’s some wonderful news as a cheaper, hotter looking R15 means more money to buy that delectable piece of riding gear that you’ve always yearned for. While there hasn’t been a reason furnished as to why the 2011 R15 would cost lesser, we anticipate the price drop to the increased localization/Indianization in many of the parts of the Yamaha R15. Closing remarks: Keep the faith!

  11. Deepak on March 13th, 2011 2:35 pm

Guys do u really this that Yamaha is gonna launch this bike after the devastation what JAPAN has seen past few days??

  12. Jay Prashanth on March 13th, 2011 2:40 pm

    Deepak,

What happened in Japan no doubt is tragic, but life must go on, isn’t it?

    Cheers,

    Jay

  13. Deepak on March 13th, 2011 3:04 pm

    Jay,
True but dont u think it might effect the production of R15?

    Cheers
    Deepak

  14. Jay Prashanth on March 13th, 2011 3:22 pm

    Deepak,

The R15 is built in India and it isn’t a Completely Knocked Down kit(CKD) for which parts have to arrive from Japan. So, existing production as well as the future launch should not be affected.

    Cheers,

    Jay

    Jay,
Thats grt to hear… but wen is it gonna come, i have been waiting for this for the past 3 months from now. I booked the old R 15 but came to know about the facelift so asked the yamaha guys to hold on and notify me once the new version arrives. ‘m desperately waiting for it…

  16. Jay Prashanth on March 13th, 2011 3:49 pm

    Deepak,

The new R15 should have been launched by now considering the fact that even AutoCar published a story about the new R15 a month ago. What did the folks at the dealership say about the new R15′s launch?

    Cheers,

    Jay

    Deepak,

They say the same thing every other time man. Nothing new. Even I’m confused as to what to suggest to you as it’s very tricky.

    Cheers,

    Jay

  19. Deepak on March 13th, 2011 4:51 pm

    Jay,
Ill just for one more month and see, if no official news then ill go with the existing ones or CBR 250…
    Wad say?

    Cheers
    Deepak

  20. Jay Prashanth on March 13th, 2011 5:20 pm

    Deepak,

If you can actually afford the CBR250R, close your eyes and book it right away. Honda is delivering only 15 bikes per lot to every dealer and the waiting periods will increase manyfold. Here’s a tip for you. According to a Honda dealer, the down payment for the CBR250R might be up to INR 90,000. So, what could possibly happen is that there might be many cancellation by people who would have originally though of buying the bike through full financing. So, if you pay full amount, you may be able to get delivery very quickly. So, book now and keep cash in hand so that you can get your CBR fast.

    Cheers,

    Jay
