2012 Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS now available in Karnataka at an ex-showroom price of INR 85,863
Continuing its phased launch of its new flagship motorcycle, Bajaj Auto has made the 2012 Pulsar 200 NS available in Karnataka. With that, Karnataka becomes the third state in India to get the Pulsar 200 NS, after the likes of Maharashtra and the NCR region. Bookings for the Pulsar 200 NS are now officially open at Bajaj Auto dealerships in Karnataka with deliveries to begin soon. By August 2012, the 200 NS is expected to be available on a pan India basis given that Bajaj Auto is betting big on this motorcycle, along with the recently launched Discover 125 ST, to bring in big volumes for the brand.
With the Pulsar 200 NS, Bajaj Auto has once again demonstrated that it is the master in the Indian Two Wheeler industry when it comes to value-for-money pricing. The Pulsar 200 NS represents terrific value for money, for the kind of performance and technology it packs in. The motorcycle which is more than 35% cheaper than its nearest competition also offers much more performance. The Pulsar 200 NS features a 199.5cc liquid cooled, single cylinder four stroke engine with a four valves SOHC layout, along with three spark plugs for better combustion.
The bottom end of this very engine is shared with the KTM Duke 200, and the engine is mated to a six speed manual transmission. The Pulsar 200 NS comes with an under-engine exhaust layout and a monoshock rear suspension layout to deliver better handling along with a more confident cornering performance, the latter which was a big weakness of the earlier Pulsars. The Pulsar 200 NS comes with disc brakes at both the front and the rear for better braking performance. The motorcycle comes with a top speed of 136 Kph with a 0-100 run covered in a blazing 9.83 seconds.
A digital instrumentation console that features an analog tachometer and a digital speedometer continues in the vein of previous Pulsars. Also, the motorcycle gets the characteristic “tiger eyes” pilot lamps to keep the Pulsar DNA running. The Pulsar 200 NS comes with a street fighter styling and is hence unfaired. however, Bajaj Auto does have plans of a fully faired version in the future given that this engine is liquid cooled, this giving Bajaj more flexibility. Also, Bajaj has a 350cc version of the Pulsar lined up for a launch sometime in 2013, following the KTM Duke 350, a motorcycle that is expected to be launched early next year.
