2012 Kawasaki Ninja 650R/ER-6F breaks cover!

The 2012 Kawasaki Ninja 650R has broken cover and this is the bike that Bajaj Auto will perhaps offer prospective buyers of the Ninja 650R. By the looks of it, plenty has changed in the cosmetics department with various new bits all over the Kawasaki 650R to make for a sharper looking motorcycle. While we like the rakish front, some may prefer the older styling on the front twin headlamps as the new design viewed straight up front looks a little 90s Honda VFRish.

Changes extend to the tank, the front fairing, the frame, the tail section and even the seat gets a makeover in the 2012 Ninja 650R, to make for an all new motorcycle visually. The heart of the matter, the 72 Bhp, DOHC, 8 valve, liquid cooled, fuel injected 650cc parallel twin engine though remains unchanged although Kawasaki claims a bump up in power in the low and the mid range to make for a better riding experience as mid range is what really counts on motorcycle like the Ninja 650R, which is a more touring than a track centric motorcycle.

A new twin spar perimeter frame makes it into the equation and the black-silver powder coated frame largely makes the Ninja 650R visually stunning, especially when viewed from the sides. Apart from the visual appeal, Kawasaki says that the Ninja 650R’s frame also has become more stiffer making for sharper handling. Underscoring the motorcycle’s everyday appeal and sports commuter underpinnings, fuel economy has bee accorded a high priority on the Ninja 650R.

A fuel economy of 17.7 KMPL is what Kawasaki claims and with a tank of 19 liters, the Ninja 650R can go around 300-350 Kilometers before requiring a refuel. As a range maximizer, you even have an Eco mode lighting up on the analog-digital instrumentation console to help you manage your right fist better to go farther. Rounding it off, with the 2012 Ninja 650R, Kawasaki seems to have upped the practical motorcycle’s desirability quotient by a few notches. Expect the 2012 Ninja 650R to hit Indian shores soon as Bajaj Auto does have a CKD assembly going on at its Chakan plant at the moment.

WOW! look at the frame, great engineering, now that’s how a real practical motorcycle should be, one best suited for indian condition except for the open chain.
Bench seat feels more comfy for two-up long haul than a split.
