2012 to usher Royal Enfields minus the long waiting periods!
Royal Enfield fans smitten by the very retro looking Classic 500, often are having to stare at waiting periods running up to ten months. Frustrated, many of these potential customers even junk their plans of buying the Royal Enfield Classic 350/500 because of this inordinately long waiting period.
Royal Enfield has, for long been a niche player in the motorcycle market and was thence totally under prepared to deal with the huge demand that played out with the launch of it’s latest range of reliable and fuel efficient UCE engined, retro motorcycle models. Finally things seem to be moving at Royal Enfield, with the firm now planning to up production to 100,000 units a year, come 2012.
Along with this, Royal Enfield is also looking to set up a second manufacturing unit to make the cult , classic motorcycles which are finding increasing acceptance in both developed and developing economies. So, if all goes well, you the Royal Enfield enthusiast have something to smile about as the waiting period for your favorite Royal Enfield could just get shorter.

Hello,
After a very long period something has been said about royal enfield. Where are the friends who bought and yet to buy the M.cycles.How ever nothing has been heard of recently about the launch of CLASSIC CHROME.Why is it so?
Dear Anil,
Royal Enfield is now saying that the Classic Chrome is an Export model and it’s availability in India is not scheduled for anytime in the near future. Also, the existing production constraints seem to be preventing RE from coming out with variants with the UCE350/500 engine.
However, we have covered the same in a detailed post -> http://www.indiancarsbikes.in/motorcycles/royal-enfield-new-500-classic-chrome-battlegreen-2010-auto-expo-1377/
Cheers,
Jay
