Bajaj Auto August sales grew 55 percent

Bajaj Auto recorded a 55 percent growth in sales for the month of August compared to last years figures for the same period. The company reported all-time best sales figures of 3,29,364 vehicles in August.

Bajaj Auto sold 2,89,176 two wheelers last month, up from 1,82,441 units sold in August 2009. While the cumulative sales of two wheelers for the period April to August 2010 grew at 68 percent and stood at 1,397,348 units, up from 833,235 units in April to August 2009.

The three-wheeler segment recorded its highest sales ever with a growth of 34 percent to reach 40,188 units as against 30,021 units sold in the corresponding period of last year.

The company also reported a 31 percent rise in exports at 98,578 units, compared to 75,164 units for the like period of last year.
