Bajaj Auto to launch two more commuter motorcycles shortly
Bajaj Discover DTS-Si
Talking to international business new agency Dow Jones Money, S.Sridhar, Chief Executive of Bajaj Auto’s two wheeler business Motorcycles mentioned that Bajaj Auto will launch two commuter motorcycles in the next four months.
These commuter motorcycles are to be based on the Discover and the Platina platforms and are expected to drive volumes in the commuter segment for Bajaj. This move comes on the back of the Discover 100s recent sales success at the hustings.
We think that Bajaj Auto will relaunch the Bajaj Platina with the sub 100cc Engine that is currently being used in Discover 100. This way, Bajaj will give consumers more choice in terms of styling at similar or slightly different price points.
The Discover 100 could get more goodies like a front disc brake and an electric starter unit and could be prices a few thousand rupees higher for the urban commuter motorcycle buyers who prefer such features.
