Bajaj Auto begins selling the Pulsar 200 NS in Delhi, priced at INR 85,000 ex-showroom
In line with its strategy of launching the Pulsar 200 NS in a phased manner across the country, Bajaj Auto has now made its flagship motorcycle available at the country’s capital, New Delhi. The Pulsar 200 NS was first launched in Maharashtra a couple of weeks ago, in a low key launch ceremony held at Pune. The motorcycle is priced at INR 85,000 ex-showroom Delhi, which translates into on on-road price of INR 94,300. This launch now represents the first instance of the Pulsar 200 NS being available in the northern part of India. The Pulsar 200 NS will be launched on other parts of the country in the next couple of months.
Meanwhile, bookings for the Pulsar 200 NS are being accepted at Bajaj showrooms in Dehli, with deliveries to begin soon after. The motorcycle represents the most technologically advanced model by Bajaj Auto ever and this is a major selling point. Liquid cooling, a four valve head, triple spark plugs, a six speed gearbox and a monoshock suspension layout are the key new technological bits on the Pulsar 200 NS. Incidentally, the Pulsar 200 NS shares its bottom end with the KTM Duke 200, a motorcycle model that was launched by KTM earlier this year.
The Duke 200 is also built by Bajaj at its Chakan manufacturing unit. Bajaj holds an over 40% stake in the Austrian motorcycle maker and in the future, expect more Bajaj models to use technology derived from KTM’s range of sportsbikes. Bajaj also exports the Duke 125 and 200 models of KTM, to countries across the world. This results in KTM getting the motorcycles built at a very attractive price as labour is still much cheaper in India when compared to European countries. The next big launch from KTM is the Duke 350, which will also share parts with a future Pulsar model.
With all these technological bits at a killer price, the Pulsar 200 NS represents excellent value-for-money, a signature trait that runs across Bajaj’s range of motorcycles. The amount of technology that the Pulsar 200 NS offers at its price point is a factor that is unmatched by the rest of the competition, translating into a major advantage for Bajaj Auto. Expect the Pulsar 200 NS to become a big seller, carrying on the gauntlet of the Pulsar brand of motorcycles, which have been selling extremely well, ever since the first Bajaj Pulsar twins were launched over a decade ago.
