Bajaj Boxer BM150 Bharat Bike
The Bajaj Boxer BM150 is motorcycle that Bajaj Auto hopes will replace the rugged Yezdis and Rajdoots of yore as a robust and rugged motorcycle. Bajaj has looked beyond just a robust chassis to take the trails and travails that the Indian hinterland will throw at the Boxer 150.
For this very reason, the motorcycle maker has outfitted the Bajaj Boxer with a 150cc four stroke heart, that is a lift off from the Bajaj Discover 150 DTSi albeit with some changes. The engine, while retaining the 144.8cc capacity has one crucial change. The second spark plug has been dispensed with, which also means that the Boxer 150 doesn’t get the DTSi system, to make for a more basic engine.
The engine is a two valve, single overhead cam unit good enough for a peak power of 11.8 Bhp@7,500 rpm and a peak torque of 12.26 Nm@5,000 rpm. Stylistically, the Bajaj Boxer is a harkening back to the Boxers of yesteryears and the motorcycle comes with a basic design that, while not being radical or stylish will serve the purpose just as well. A rear metal carrier has also been provided to carry small loads.
Coming to the suspension, telescopic forks up front with a 125 mm travel and twin shock absorbers at the rear with a travel of 100mm suspend the Boxer 150′s 17 inch wheels The rear shock absorbers, being of SNS type(spring inside spring) will offer both a pliant ride as well as be robust enough to support large loads.
Pricing is where Bajaj seems to have pulled another fast one here. The Bajaj Boxer BM150 will sell for INR 42,000, a price that most 100cc motorcycles sell at. Bajaj’s trademark value for money quotient of offering more for less is written all over the Boxer BM150. Whether the market will bite is the question that only time can answer.

If the Boxer BM 150 had little more top speed, it could have been a good touring bike. Adding Disc Brakes and may be having a 180 cc version, for a slightly higher price offering, would make it ideal bike for touring. A bike like this would be highly sought after by those who prefer to stay away from the heavy and clumsy RE- Bullet for road trips. With long rides getting popular, an affordable and practical Bike like Bajaj Boxer BM 150 would be needed even for urban bikers interested in road trips.
it has to get steel beeding for seat and has to change head lamp with round bigger and has to remove the dirty dome on lamp and increase the top speed.
