Bajaj Boxer BM150 launched at a price of INR 43,000 ex-showroom Pune
Bajaj Boxer 150
Bajaj Auto has launched the Boxer BM150 utility bike. The launch was expected to take place on August 19 but, Bajaj decided to quietly launch the bike away from the media glare. We even brought you exclusive insider information about the launch and the bike itself. The bike is targeted at the rural customers who have been deprived of a tough utility bike for years. In past, this was not the case. Other bike makers were offering products in this segment.

The new bike from Bajaj will fill in the void left by the Yezdis and Rajdoots of the world. Bajaj Auto has also priced the new Bajaj Boxer BM150 at a very reasonable Rs 43,000 ex-showroom Pune. What Bajaj has done this time is come up with a crude 150 cc bike with better torque and power which has the ability to carry heavy loads. A high payload capacity is what most customers in rural areas want from their vehicles. It could either be for carrying produce to the markets or for ferrying passengers.

For 43,000 rupees, you get a tough bike with a 150 cc engine that has better fuel economy compared to the fancy, expensive bikes of today. The 100 cc engine of the old Bajaj Boxer has been swapped for a 150 cc unit without Bajaj’s DTSi technology. Thus, its a standard 150 cc engine that is tuned to deliver more power and torque for lugging cargo. Bajaj has compromised fuel efficiency for power when compared to the 100 cc Boxer.

Bajaj Auto expects to see sales of the bike pick-up in the rural areas than in urban, developed parts of India. The bike has been built keeping in mind the rural customers needs and offers carrying racks etc. The design too is not that bad and gets a plastic cowl over the round headlight. The suspension too seems to have been raised a bit to accommodate heavy loads.

Dear Joshua,
Bajaj hasn;t revealed the mileage yet. Hence, we haven’t carried it. However, a figure of 55-60 Kmpl should be a realistic figure for the Boxer 150!
Cheers,
Jay
