The Bajaj Pulsar 220 gets a new paint job: Time for a new model?
While it is just a matter of time before the Bajaj Pulsar 220 will get a massive makeover, replete with changes in the engine and styling, Bajaj Auto has given the Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTSi, its flagship motorcycle model, a minor facelift in the form of a paint job. The paint job now means that the Bajaj Pulsar 220 embraces the two tone treatment, which could become a trend on the Pulsar series, as Bajaj usually begins a styling facelift from its flagship model which filters down to other models in its range.
From the initial details we have about this facelift, the two tone Bajaj Pulsar 220 is already on Bajaj showroom floors. The two tone paint job comprises of a twin paint scheme on the fairing and the cowls of Pulsar 220, while the tail lamp cowl also gets new graphics. The crank case, which was previously black now sports a silver paint finish while the cylinder continues to remain powder coated with black paint.
The footpegs too get the silver powder coated finish. We’ve managed to get two images of the dual tone Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTSi. From what we’re seeing, the red and black Bajaj Pulsar 220 looks quite gaudy to say the least. Somehow the paint job looks like an afterthought with the saving grace being that the all black colored Pulsar 220 still managing to look quite ravishing. In essence, Bajaj seems to have taken a leaf out of Hero Honda’s book by giving the Pulsar 220 a paint job.
This could also be a ploy by Bajaj to push the current variants Pulsar 220 DTSi models, to make way for the brand new Pulsar, on the new platform. There are two reasons for this. One: Bajaj has began selling its flagship models, the Pulsar 220 and the Avenger 220 at all Bajaj dealerships, which was previously limited to Bajaj Pro-Biking outlets. Two: The Pulsar 220′s new paint job coming at a time when the new model is just around the corner. So, there’s a fat chance that this upgrade will be followed by the new range of Pulsars.
