Bajaj teases the all new 2012 Pulsar as the countdown for the unveil begins!
We are three days away from a massive launch from Bajaj Auto, when the all new 2012 Pulsar will be finally unveiled. The 2012 Pulsar comes a full decade after the first Bajaj Pulsar twins made their debut in late 2001 and the all new model will be a leap of faith for both Bajaj and Indian motorcyclists as it will be the first all-Indian motorcycle to feature liquid cooling. Bajaj Auto has updated the Pulsar website with a teaser, adding a countdown timer to the all new 2012 Pulsar’s unveiling on the 30th of January, 2012. It still remains unclear whether Bajaj Auto will simply unveil the new Pulsar or launch it along with a price announcement.
The all new 2012 Pulsar that will be unveiled on the 30th of Jnaury is expected to be the flagship variant. However, the new design philosophy and platform will stretch to the entire Pulsar line up over a period of time. The new Pulsar is expected to raise the bar yet again, just like it did in 2001, when it came a breath of fresh air with muscular styling and best-in-class-features at a very affordable price, catapulting the motorcycle into becoming a best seller almost instantaneously. Over the years, numerous revisions and technical changes have made it onto the Pulsars, and the sales graphs have constantly headed north.
The all new 2012 Pulsar is expected to borrow plenty of technology from the just-launched KTM Duke 200 like liquid cooling and an underbody exhaust. Like Tata Motors, which is using technology derived from its Jaguar-Land Rover acquisition to better the Tata range of cars, Bajaj Auto also seems to doing the same, with its stake in KTM resulting in KTM technology filtering down to Bajaj motorcycles. Bajaj is betting on the new Pulsar to maintain its supremacy in the Indian budget sports motorcycle market. So, expect a cracker of a price tag and various class leading features that could deliver a knock out punch to the competition, yet again. The countdown is on!
