    Dear Aryan,

This information has been stated by none other than Stefan Pierer, the CEO of KTM. So, you can consider it to be true.

    Cheers,

    Jay

@ jay ……. Stefan Pierer said “Production will begin in the next week or two. As overseas delivery times take longer the first batch of motorcycles produced (around 20,000 units) will be exported. In India, deliveries for the KTM 200 Duke will begin by March 2012.”
He is discussing about European version of KTM 200 not INDIAN version.don’t confuse yourself. the number @ 20,000 units was not told by Stefan Pierer Zigwheels put those numbers which is logically not possible.(2000 units per month production is their target, how can they make a 1st batch of 20,000 units & export it)
Its common sense. how can anyone make 20,000 KTM in 2-3 weeks & export it, after that make KTM for Indian market. its foolishness.

    Aryan,

Which is why, we did not quote 20,000 units/month. If you observe, we quoted 2000 units/month. But then again, Pierer has clearly quoted ” In India, deliveries for the KTM 200 Duke will begin by March 2012″. Hence, our story. Anyway, if deliveries have already begun in India, it is a good thing. But dealers in Bangalore say the first deliveries will begin in March, Let me check once with dealers of other cities and update this story accordingly.

    Cheers,

    Jay

Even CBR 250 took 5-6 months to deliver, KTM at least deserves 1-2 month.
KTM bikes produced in Feb will be delivered in March. there is no issue of exporting it.
