Taking on the mighty Jap four requires some special family jewels and BMW Motorrad seems to have just them in plenty. After wowing motorcycle enthusiasts with the blazingly quick and ultra powerful BMW S1000RR, here is another feather in the S1000RR’s already colorful hat. Brock Performance’s stock wheelbase BMW S1000RR managed to enter the highly coveted 8 second quarter mile time at the Kil Kare Raceway in Ohio.

Prepped by drag king Jeremy Teasley, the BMW S1000RR hit the quarter mile mark at 8.971 seconds at an exit speed of 157.93 mph. That’s some exit speed.

The headline reads that the BMW S1000RR was stockish. So, here are the deviations from stock, which fully conform to AMA Dragbike Supersport rules. The changes made to the BMW S1000RR included a lowered suspension, altered gearing, free flow exhaust, a fuel-injection controller and ceramic wheel bearings. So there, all these changes are non intrusive with the engine remaining more or less bone stock and thus the stupendous performance that the BMW S1000RR has put up becomes all the more alluring. Willkommen neue champion.
