Bajaj Auto Limited seems to have pulled of a stunner of sorts and this piece of news could knock the Hyosung GT650R out cold even before full fledged deliveries begin. Without much ado, here is it, out in the open. The Kawasaki Ninja 650R will be priced at INR 4.5 Lakhs, Ex-Showroom Delhi, when it is launched on the 8th of June. The pricing looks extremely competitive considering the fact that the smaller capacity Ninja 250R coming for INR 2.7 Lakhs.

Bajaj Auto, it seems wants to take the Hyosung GT650R head on and at a price lesser than the big Hyosung. Considering the huge brand value of the Ninja brand over the Hyosung, it looks pretty easy to see how the tide will turn once the Ninja’s price advantage will be known to more prospective Hyosung owners. But it isn’t only the price that could put the Ninja 650R head and shoulders above the Hyosung when it comes to being a better buy.

First of all, the Ninja’s 650cc parallel twin is said to be very smooth across the rev range, that will male the Hyosung’s V-Twin lump pretty crude, especially for touring where intrusive vibes can get very tiresome and fatigue inducing over longer distances. Also, the Ninja 650R scores over the Hyosung in the ergonomics department, with a more relaxed posture with the single piece handlebar as opposed to the clip ons and aggressive riding position.

But when it comes to the way the two motorcycles looks, we’d prefer the clean and sporty lines of the Hyosung GT650R which look much better than the Ninja 650R which decidedly looks scooterish head on. Perhaps, a naked version which Bajaj might introduce later could be a better bet in the looks department even as Garware-Hyosung has talked about bringing a naked version of the GT650R soon. Meanwhile. the Kawasaki Ninja 650R will be unveiled officially on the 8th of June.
