Ducati Diavel in Bangalore
There may not be an automobile culture in India, but that does not mean Indians are ignorant with a bad taste in automobiles. In the recent past, we’ve seen numerous international car and bike makers coming in to India and with great ambitions to expand their markets. Who would’ve thought that Mercedes-Benz who have been in our country from the time when Mahatma Gandhi was still practicing Satyagraha and Bhagat Singh and his colleagues were fighting for independence, would be joined by Audi and BMW.
Same is the case with bikes. Today, if you want a proper high end cruiser you just have to walk into a Harley Davidson showroom. If speed and handling is what you want from your expensive bike then, there is Ducati. These bikes may be expensive to own but this does not stop one from buying his dreams. One such rider was spotted in Bangalore recently. The bike he was riding is one of the finest Ducatis of the era. Surprisingly, the all-black Ducati Diavel seems to blend quite well with the hustle and bustle of Bangalore’s streets but what we don’t experience by just viewing the images is the sound that’s emanating from the twin-tailpipes.

The 1200 cc Testastretta 11 degree, L-Twin cylinder, Desmodromic liquid cooled engine. This engine puts out a massive 162 bhp @9500 rpm and 128 Nm @8000 rpm, that’s more than what some of the cars produce. The drive-by-wire system allows for a very responsive interface between man and machine. The Diavel also gets the latest from Ducati’s advanced electronic rider assist range. Traction control and ABS are available on all models with DDA on the higher-spec versions only. The Ducati Diavel may not be the best cruiser around but it does have the looks that will turn heads and will leave others ogling over its magnificence.
