Ducati India Plans To sell 150 bikes in 2010, Opens 2nd Dealership

Ducati Motor Holding, the world’s leading manufacturer of racing motorcycles,is planning to sell around 150 motorcycles in India in the upcoming year 2010. Most of the Ducati Bikes in India are price in the range of Rs. 15 – Rs. 60 Lac.

Ducati India announced the opening of its second dealership, in partnership with Precision Motor India Private Ltd.

Ashish Chordia, CEO, Ducati India said: “The Ducati brand symbolizes racing success and passion, which we at Precision Motor India also represent. With the opening of this showroom we have are now able to reach to our customers in both the key markets – Delhi and Mumbai.”

According to the company, India is having bigger potential than China in the superbikes arena. The superbike segment in India registers around 1,000 bike sales an year as compared to 100 units in the Dragon country.

Ducati has plans to put 4 more dealers on the board in 2010 in addition to the current 2 dealerships. It also plans to sell over 150 bikes in 2010 against the 35 units that were lapped up since its July launch.

“The superbike demand in India is consistently growing,” said Suzuki Motorcycle India VP Atul Gupta.
