Harley Davidson rides into Mumbai: New showroom for “Mum-bikers”

Actor Saif Ali Khan recently bought a Harley Davidson Nitrate in Los Angeles and got it shipped to Latvia for the filming of an action sequence from his upcoming film, “Agent Vinod”. Now this was fine when Harley’s had to be imported from abroad, not now though. Harley Davidson is finally open for business in Mumbai.

“Mum-bikers” now have a reason to rejoice as the Milwaukee-based iconic brand rides into the city of Mumbai. The showroom was inaugurated a few weeks back, off Linking Road, ‘Seven Islands Harley Davidson,‘ and is one of the five dealerships that have sprung up across the country.

The showroom will offer 12 models including the Sportster, Street Bob and Fat Boy. The price range starts from Rs 683,000 (approx. ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs 3,400,000 for the limited edition 2010 CVO Ultra Classic Electra Glide.

The dealership also sells H-D merchandise, managed by an ex-Gucci merchandiser who happens to also know her Harley from her handbag. Resting above the bike display, on the first floor, are biker jackets, boots, shades and casual wear for both sexes screaming the iconic brand name. A cap costs Rs 831 and a biker’s jacket up to Rs 26,000.

The Harley Owners Group (H.O.G), which has over one million members worldwide, will get its own Mumbai Chapter led by the dealership. “H.O.G members will meet every month, enjoy rides together and interact with each other,” said Arjun Bafna, Mumbai dealership Head and self-confessed auto junkie.

Hi,
I had visited your show room in bandra. I am given to understand that you have smaller bikes in harley, but during my visit you had non. Please I would appreciate if you could let me know if smaller bikes are avaliable with you as i am interested, and if possible you could send me the picture of the model avaliable as I am out of India. I would be waiting to hear from you. Thanks.
