Hero Honda, the indisputable king of two wheelers in India is now anticipating even greater demand for it’s two wheelers in the future. Extremely bullish on the future, Hero Honda is mulling a new and fourth manufacturing facility to meet the ever increasing demand for it’s fuel efficient and reliable range of small capacity motorcycles and scooters.
While Hero Honda operates three manufacturing facilities at Daruhera, Gurgaon and Haridwar, with an installed capacity of 5 million units, it is now conducting feasibility studies for a fourth plant. Here’s what Pawan Munjal, the managing director of Hero Honda had to say about this development.
The market wants more. Very soon we will do a feasibility study. It should take about six months to take a decision.
Meanwhile, the fourth plant could spearhead Hero Honda’s plans of launching as many as eight or nine new variants in various segments during the next fiscal.
Now, that is a lot of launches, even if it just means sticker jobs and variants of the existing line up.
